5つ星のうち5.0 Wonderful
Amazonで購入This story was wonderful, from the very beginning it pulled you in. I laughed throughout this whole book, I love romance but without some humor it can be boring and repetitive. This book was far from boring. Two beautiful love stories, although one did stand out more than the other for me. I will definitely be reading more from Robbi McCoy.

5つ星のうち5.0 Delightful romance
Amazonで購入Shelby Pratt is having a really bad day, this comes at the end of a really bad week. First of all her grandmother trips over her dog and breaks her hip. Followed by Shelby receiving numerous hysterical calls from her mother. She gets fired from her job as a waitress and as if this isn't enough, she has now locked her keys in her car. In despair, she sits on the edge of the kerb and bursts into tears. Gwen Lawford, one of the women responsible for getting Shelby fired, stops to help her out. Gwen is the director of a Naval Museum on San Francisco Bay. She is working hard to save the museum from being closed down by the city council. Gwen stumbles across a journal written in 1944 while she is sifting through some old papers. The journal tells the story of a love affair between a Rosie-the-Riveter shipyard worker and a Navy WAVES recruit during WW11. When Gwen and Shelby begin to get to know one another it's obvious they are going to be more than just friends. Unfortunately as Gwen and Shelby unravel the secret of the journal, the truth may be enough to split them apart. Add Shelby's hysterical mother to the mix and their budding relationship may be doomed before it really begins.
This book is written about the love affairs of two couples. One couple from 1944, their story is told entirely form the journal and one couple form the present. The book is so well written, absorbing and intriguing. I read it almost in one sitting. I couldn't bear to put it down. I loved the descriptions of the war years. So accurate. Also having visited San Francisco, I felt right at home with the vivid descriptions of the bay area. A really well researched book. I can't wait for Robbi's next book now.

5つ星のうち4.0 For Me and My Gal - Robbi McCoy
Amazonで購入The cover reads:
Not only has architecture grad Shelby Pratt been fired from her job as a waitress, she's locked her keys in the car and is infuriated when one of the women that just got her fired stops to offer help.
Gwen Lawford feels bad for the waitress, but it seems there's little she can do. Director of a small Naval museum on San Fransisco Bay, Grew is working desperately to save the historic building from developers.
When Shelby learns that Gwen tries to get her rehired, she offers her thanks in person - giving her the chance to tour the museum and to meet the intriguing Gwen under better circumstances.
Soon they discover a mutual interest in unraveling a mysterious affair between a Rosie-the-Riveter shipyard worker and a Navy WAVES recruit, opening the door to continued contact... and deeper feelings.
But secrets of the past and present take a shocking personal turn for Shelby, and Gwen's desire to set the past right could destroy any chances at a future of their own.
Combining romance, passion and the courageous history of women in wartime, Golden Crown Literary Award winner Robbi McCoy tells an unforgetable story of impossible love and the resilience of the human heart.

5つ星のうち5.0 Truly Excellent
Amazonで購入Well-researched, beautifully written, terrific story. As another reviewer said, it's hard to let these characters go when the book ends. If you haven't read any of Robbi McCoy's books, let this be your introduction.

5つ星のうち4.0 Two stories in different times twist.
Amazonで購入Well done and definitely worth reading.
It is amazing to remember how far this society has progressed in the last 30 years much less the 50 to 60 year difference in the two stories. The connection is fun and not unpredictable. A little more effort into the modern story would have been all it needed to make it to five stars for me.
