著者について

Mike Heiser is currently writing his Ph.D. dissertation in Hebrew Bible and Ancient Semitic Languages at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He holds an M.A. in Ancient History from an ivy-league institution, the University of Pennsylvania (major fields, Ancient Israel and Egyptology), and another M.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (Hebrew Bible and Ancient Semitic Languages). Mike is the recipient of several academic awards, and has written scholarly articles for several prestigious journals. Mike has taught theology, biblical studies, and world civilizations at the undergraduate level since 1992. Besides his formal academic training, Mike has had a life-long interest in the paranormal, particularly the UFO phenomenon. He is uniquely qualified to write on the intersection of ufology with ancient texts and mainstream religion. Mike currently resides in Madison, Wisconsin. He and his wife Drenna have three children.

SO thrilled that the books have come back in paperback form!! Beautiful quality - matte finish, thick and smooth pages, and large! Love it. I now own both books in paperback and ebook.

I was immediately enthralled by this book. Devoured it in a couple of days! The second book, The Portent, is incredible as well but I had to take a break around 75% in because I wasn't ready for the saga to be "over"! Sadly for us, Dr. Michael Heiser has gone to be with the Lord, so we'll never know what happens in novel #3, but we know it is named The Cipher, and I look forward to asking him about the book one day, in heaven!

I think the best thing about these novels is the fact that anyone could enjoy them. I have recommended them to so many friends and family! My hope is that they will find some truths in the story that will spark their interest in starting a relationship with Jesus.

Wow! I first heard about this book on the Naked Bible Podcast. And honestly, I wasn't prepared for this. It is one thing to write theological papers. It's something totally different to write fiction. But Dr Heiser can do it all. I got hooked on the first pages and couldn't stop reading.

Dr Michael Heiser has the knack of writing an enjoyable and compelling novel whilst conveying some deep theological truths and insights into the Bible that you are unlikely to hear in church. The book is fast paced and the story-line follows a group of individuals with various skills and knowledge who are thrown together at the behest of a secretive Government agency. Without wishing to give too much away the plot includes UFO's, the Vatican, ancient languages and a modern day supernatural mystery. The narrative will keep you guessing and the book is difficult to put down - be prepared to lose more than a few hours!

I have recently started to read some of Dr Heiser's non-fiction work too and whilst I am no theologian his books (and podcast, the Naked Bible) provide much food for thought and provides answers to some of the more challenging questions raised by a careful reading of the Bible.

I'm off to purchase the second instalment in this series, 'the portent' and hope that you take the plunge and buy a book that is very enjoyable and intellectually stimulating on many different levels. Thank you Dr Heiser.
