This novel is such a breath of fresh air in a world of stories and novels that keep telling us that certain things are normal and that we should just accept them as normal. Fifteen Seconds of Normal puts a different reality on what is normal among youth today. It inspires readers to know that it is okay to be different. It will cause readers to ponder that one should be aware that there is more to someone's story of their life than what meets the eye, that we should get to know those around us, and that we should have compassion towards what someone might be going through before we judge them. There are so many quotes in this book that I underlined that inspired me to be a better person. The character development was so fantastic. I felt like I got to know the main characters so well, and even the supporting characters were so well-developed through the eyes of the main characters. Fifteen Seconds of Normal relates with what many teens are going through now-a- days, with social media(the positive and negatives of it), divorce, and other hard issues in life. It does this with a great balance of the realities of these issues mixed in with humor, compassion, understanding, and hope. All the characters leaped from the pages and came alive. I laughed, cried, pondered, and was inspired. I could not put it down and was so sad when I finished reading it. This book will inspire teens and adults alike.​
