Reintegration (English Edition) Kindle版
Streetwise cyborg Lexi Vale brokers deals for gang lords in the anarchic city of Foundation. Her mind-reading implant gives her a crucial edge—but it also makes her brain a hot commodity.
When she’s targeted by an augmented hunter, Lexi joins a group of rebels: a murderous vigilante, a daredevil smuggler, a drug-addled surgeon, and a revolutionary whose shared past with Lexi endangers them all.
A queer, dystopian sci-fi about piecing together purpose from the fragments of love and loss, even while the world itself is tearing apart.

wunderbare queere Dystopie

Diese wunderbare queere Dystopie entfaltet ihren Charme erst nach den ersten Seiten. Danach wird sie zum packenden Steam-Punk Adventure mit allem was dazugehört. Bisschen Sex, bisschen Philosophie, Drama, Romance, Road-Movie.

A well drawn distopian society where nothing is at it seems

This book has an amazing cast of characters that defy labelling; all seem have strengths and weaknesses that caught me it on several occasions. I assumed some of the cast were gay/straight only to discover they were trans etc, a good book to challenge my stereotyping!
Towards the end I was confused over how some of the characters escaped from being reintegrated as there were some quite large gaps that did not explain how characters like Min managed to leave her enclave without being hunted down. It is one of the books that I will read again to see what I missed the first time. I hope it is one of a trilogy as there are so many really good ideas that could be developed further.

Strong characters, great storyline

I pretty much only read science fiction, and I've done so all my life. Even so, though I've read several books where the protagonist or a major
character was gay, I don't believe I've ever read one with a full complement of LGBT characters. The story here is strong and well-crafted,
and eventually everyone's gender identity and sexuality assumed their rightful places, to me, as simply part of the plot. Each of the characters
has depth, complexity, and surprises to them. To me personally it is gratifying to read a book where people treat one another with warmth and
sincerity. (Something that can be a bit harder to run across in the real world, at times.) The story has a good balance of action to interpersonal
exchange. There are some fairly graphic and joyful sex scenes. Overall I'd say that it was well worth reading.

Near future dystopian cyberpunk

Cyborg lesbians and a dystopian future setting. Fairly near future-tech employed. Quite a few steamy sex scenes tho not overly gratuitous. If that sounds like something you'll enjoy then this book is for you. It won't change your life but it will probably entertain you quite nicely, at least it did me.

Pretty good, but needs some filling out

This book wound up feeling more like a sociological statement and less of a grand adventure, but I'm getting ahead of myself. The author created some fairly interesting characters (cyborg, shut-in Codist girl, smuggler, delightfully psychopathic bodyguard type), though Lexi herself actually got more annoying as the book went on. There was some really good world building and great concepts to build on. On the other hand, the ending felt really abrupt (strange considering the length of the book) and I didn't feel like there was any build up, in part because there was some question as to who the antagonist was, or if there was one at all. If you read it, you might understand my confusion. Also, while I love the wide variety of characters from the LGBTQ spectrum that were included, I found it odd that EVERYONE (as far as I can remember right now) came from that group. Inclusiveness is desperately needed in popular fiction and kudos to the author for pushing the envelope, but the needle moved from the "about dang time" portion of the gauge to "perhaps overkill?" Still, it was a good effort by a new author, and I think it warrants giving a second book a chance.
