While mostly told through my grandfather’s perspective, this book is an attempt to unite various accounts of the RAF in WWII Darwin, to fill in a few gaps, and to paint a picture of the characters and daily military life at Nightcliff camp. I drew on not only the squadron diary, but as many other sources I could find, as well as my father’s recollection of my grandfather’s stories.

The author has been made the book more interesting as it is written as if the reader is on location and witness to the conversations rather than it just being a historical report of events.
