With just a little thought, everyone will also recognize the truth that nurses are far less stressed, generally happier, live longer and overall have a higher quality of life on all fronts except financial and external status. It begs the question of who has selected the better career.
Some other considerations, how about the several hundred thousand dollars in debt the day the average doctor steps out of med school. Most nurses are debt free from their education. Yet, nurses make a good income that increases with experience.
Nurses are free to frequently move anywhere they wish and they are virtually guaranteed a high paid rewarding job. Not so with doctors – or most high paying professions.
The benefits of nursing are enormous – but rather than go any further into that area, I suggest you read this book. It is packed with excellent advice on the breath of nursing and what it can mean for you. Which, by the way, is much more than the traditional hospital nurse that comes to mind for most of us because the field has exploded with opportunities in the past couple decades.
If freedom and good money as well as increasing status and don’t forget doing some real good in the world interest you, then start with this book.
It is a well written, clear, through yet concise review of the nursing field and the education steps required to get to any level you might be interested in.
