Looking for a job is a cause of frustration to many people. Job seekers can lose hope quickly. It might not be obvious but this is directly related to the style of résumé being used.
This book will remove your frustration and provide you with hope: the hope you will find your first job; move on with your career to a better job; change career completely; or return to the workforce after a period of unemployment.
You will be guided step-by-step to write an effective style of résumé with a 30-second impact. If your résumé is not making a strong impression inside 30 seconds then you're one giant leap behind the rest.
Your new résumé will make you look good. Creating it will force you to rethink old limits and clarify what is needed for new or unfulfilled career goals. It will engage you in the process of discovering or rediscovering your strengths, your skills, and your prior learning, so by creating your new résumé you can, and should, change how you think about yourself and what your future possibilities are.
As the process evolves, you will start to feel good about yourself and have fun. You’ll reach a point where you can’t wait to get your new résumé out there. Why? Because you’re asking the biggest questions possible. Who am I, what am I good at, what is my purpose, what are my dreams and what will it take to get there?
In some cases, examples being age discrimination or large gaps, résumés don’t work so I offer an alternative, proven solution which can work for anyone.
The employment sector is a rapidly changing environment. Change comes so fast that it creates its own problems. So to keep you up to date there’s information on QR codes (I’d never heard of them too!), the advantage of videos (which more and more employers are demanding), branding and, perhaps most important of all, the advantages and pitfalls of social media. These are all covered succinctly for easy, clear application to your job search.
