5.0 out of 5 starsUplifting and Inspirational Story, Highly Recommended I was completely hooked right away. The story had a steady pace and I loved the main character, Mia, who later changes her name to Yasmin to keep from being found by her Islamic family. She runs away and starts college in Australia. The story is one of great challenges and forgiveness.
Without giving away any spoilers, Yasmin, learns that some things she believed are not as they appear to be. She turns away from her Islamic beliefs and grows in her faith in the Lord. She spreads her wings and becomes a new person, finding love in a culture that once was foreign to her.
There were a few unexpected surprises to the plot. I had times when I felt like crying and times of immense joy. This is a very uplifting tale and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys an inspirational romance laced with great faith.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Story about a young woman who was raised muslum A Love Story about a young woman who was raised Muslim who decided that it was not the life she wanted and escaped that life to live a different life of freedom. I took strength and determination to leave her father. She was a new Graduate Nurse and chose to move away to a new area of Australia away from her old life. There she meets new friends who would support her and eventually find the love of her life and a new religion and in Christ she learns the true meaning of LOVE and forgiveness.

A sure win for Christian readers, but it would be an even better read for anti-believers--better yet, readers who've felt just as Mia has, who were distressed by the belief they were forced to practice growing up, without letting them think for themselves and be who they were created to be.

It's amazing to read a story and then think to oneself by the end how it all ties together. For instance, the title: to catch a butterfly. From the story I've just read I feel it means to catch something fragile and beautiful... and once caught, what is done with it? This is a story of a girl who fled her past life and found a new one--a life she's never known and has never expected to find. Yasmin, (also known by her other name, Mia), is the butterfly, and I feel that Jesus Christ is the one who has caught her in this story.

To Catch A Butterfly is a beautiful story of love and forgiveness. The author writes a powerful tale here, but the part I enjoyed the most about it was its bold Christian theme. A sure win for Christian readers, but it would be an even better read for anti-believers--better yet, readers who've felt just as Mia has, who were distressed by the belief they were forced to practice growing up, without letting them think for themselves and be who they were created to be.

But this is the relief that Mia has found in this story--that Christ can truly set her free. No longer will she be held captive under strict laws (that no imperfect human can actually follow), but under Christ, she is free from it all. And now she can finally become the person she was created to be--and shine in her relationship with Her beloved, Roan.

This was a fun, light read with good intentions, but it seemed too "pie-in-the-sky" for the subject matter. The assortment of pleasant characters and the lack of real drama might make this book enjoyable for a young person or someone who dislikes friction in their fiction. Yasmin hardly acts like a girl who has escaped an oppressive Muslim family, especially since her Islamic roots are painted as completely evil and devoid of love or joy, with little detail about her life as a Muslim. She "escapes" very easily to come to a job already waiting for her, she readily makes several friends who become her "family," she has plenty of money to rent a room by herself and buy lots of clothes and trinkets, she's outgoing and confident, and has no problems wearing a bathing suit in front of men. (Semi-spoilers coming - please stop reading if you don't want to know, even though I'm keeping details vague) The dangerous kidnapping the story keeps hinting at is horribly anti-climatic and ends so quickly you'll miss it if you blink. Years of supposed brainwashing in the Islamic faith are wiped out at the smallest exposure to Christianity, with little fanfare, and everyone, except maybe one person who made a choice not to participate in the lovefest, lives happily ever after. Still, this feel-good story would be greatly improved if an editor could clean up the spelling, punctuation, and "head hopping."

Lindsey pens a wonderful story in Yasmin finds THE WAY: Christian Spiritual Romance. I am on a mission to read all that Lindsey writes, and I think this is one of my favorites. Yasmin is living a torturous life, and is under the scrutiny and bondage of an abusive step-parent. She is also of Muslim faith, her body completely covered. Lindsey writes well, and brings the agony and journey of Yasmin to life, as the reader joins in her escape for freedom. It's a long journey for her, not just from her escape but her growth as a person, as she discovers herself and a new of looking for salvation and grace. A magnificent reading!

The first thing I would like you to know is that I am a manly man. Quite naturally, therefore, I would NEVER want to read a romance novel—not even a Christian one! However, our Heavenly Father sees things differently, and here I am with To Catch A Butterfly. It was a delightful read. Yes, it is indeed an authentic romance novel, but there is much more to this book than just that. Furthermore, there is a surprise bonus at the end. Make up your own mind, but read this book, you must.
