This is genuinely the best indie book I have read to date. The plot is clean, the characters well constructed and the world is just straight up fun. Though there are hints that this is a debut, the book gets better as your move through it giving me even higher hopes for part two.

This book would be great for:

- Lovers of mythology - this blends the Arthurian legend with modern day, Romany and fairy lore.
- Lovers of a family dynamic - the connection between characters in this book is like that of 'found family' only with a real family which is refreshingly sweet
- Lovers of action and adventure - it's full of both
- Lovers of YA (especially those like me that are sick of the love triangles!) - nice dose of teenage emotions
- Those who love to escape the everyday and imagine there really is magic out there

This book starts by dropping the reader right into a situation of tension and mystery that continues to grow and develop further as the story progresses. One by one, the questions are layered and woven together so that before long, the reader realises that this book simply demands to be read.

Michael and Dana appear to be typical teenagers living in suburban Melbourne. Sport and school consume most of their time, but there's something else going on that intrigues both the central characters and the reader. Their family seems quite normal and their dislike of the nasty neighbours seems completely natural.

There is, however, much more to both sides of the equation than meets the eye.

As the action of the story progresses, the reader becomes very familiar with both Michael and Dana, their family members, and the flaws and strengths of each. The reader is very much inclined to cheer Michael and Dana on as they confront a set of circumstances that they never expected to meet in suburban Melbourne.

I really enjoyed the typical Australian flavour of the settings in the story and also in the writing. I find that, too often, Australian authors feel they need to sacrifice their ow surroundings and way of speaking in deference to the power of American popular culture. The author has, in this book, not only retained those qualities but also incorporated them as part of the strengths of the settings, characters and story.

I found this to be an excellent and interesting book, with plenty of action and excitement to engage YA readers and older.

This is a paranormal story built with fantasy elements. And it sparks at a brilliant beginning of the whole story the author has written upon those things young adults will resonate with. The ancient power, called “It” in her book I, has been released from a doll, taking its place in Michael’s world and playing its plot. The dark power will come soon later; moreover, Michael and his friends have to face 'It's return in her book II. I expect more and more amazing sparks——the author will light up. Overall, it is easy to get into those details, which were written in a smooth flow, so that you can enjoy her book on your bed. I bought this book on Amazon, really enjoyed it. Thanks a lot. And expect book II.

Petra Costa's Return of the Sleeping Warriors is an epic fantasy with magic welding people and creatures.

Evil, trapped in the form of a doll, calling itself It and finally revealed as Anarcos, has returned after eons of being bound. He wants to extract energy and power from the blood line of the guardians.

Michael, a descendant of the bloodline, and his family have power that they are unaware of, but once they learn it exists, It should beware.

The story is the beginning of a series that I look very forward to reading more of!
