Wow! Dalziel is the bachelor, doing work for the King, happy with his family in the Highlands until he meets Clarissa and he has to have her. He tries to tell himself that it's just business that no feelings are involved but he's lying to himself.
He's not fooling his house staff. They see the budding romance between the two. It's a comical, passionate, murder mystery of a story with a couple plot twists. It was a great read and I look forward to the next one. Reading Arrowsmith now! ^_^

Pledged to the Wolf: Reformed Rogues Book 3 (English Edition) Kindle版
This is a Scottish Medieval Romance. Recommend reading books in series order.
Dalziel 'the Wolf' Robertson is an enigma with many secrets. Part English and part Scots, he is silent, calculating, and deadly. The traits one needs to be the Red King's assassin (Book 2). Estranged from his mother's side, he abhors all things English, and with the exception of his inner circle of brothers and the occasional mistress, he is content to live a reclusive life. That is until he finds himself pledged to an English wallflower with a notorious reputation for being extremely dull. For some reason, she intrigues him and threatens his resolve.
Among the gentry, Clarissa Harcourt is considered to be a quiet, proper, boring wallflower. Finding herself in impoverished circumstances, she agrees to wed an unknown Scottish Highlander for a year and a day. It will be a marriage of convenience, enabling her to maintain her ruse because Clarissa has secrets of her own. Secrets that will place her life and heart at risk.
Content Warning: Brawny alpha males, and feisty heroines. Not suitable for people under 18. It contains mature content, some violence and mild steam.

This is third in the series and just as fantastic as the rest. Everything this author has written has made me a fan. The women in this series are strong , stubborn and feisty. There’s excitement, danger and everything you need in a story. Iv got kindle unlimited but still bought this so I can read again and again

Time travel romance? 😆

Ok, so nobody reading historical romance novels gives a fig about 100% accuracy in research, but this book?
Supposedly set in the year 1043, it surprises its readers with weirdly funny moments, like the heroines’ servants (including a „butler“, seriously?) trying to harvest potatoes, 500 years ahead of time. Seriously? Sounds like the author wanted to write a regency novel and totally forgot book 1&2 were set in medieval times..
Mistakes are too disturbing to ignore, I stopped after 50 pages.

Good story - fun to read

I love the story line, I just wish Elina Emerald had a better proofreader. I am a grammar snob, I guess, and am a stickler for proper punctuation. I tend to get distracted by that kind of stuff. But again, the story line is wonderful in all 3 of her Reformed Rogues series. And I will be buying more of her work in the future.

Hmmmm!

A person born in the South Pacific writing mediaeval Scottish stories! Lol. In the previous books, and this one, she’s using too many modern sayings which I doubt very much would have been used in the 11th century. The commas are in strange places throughout the book! The stories are bloodthirsty. Then the sex! Too much information there, had to jump over a few pages as I really didn’t find it interesting enough to read.
